A university student and I discussed the issue of poverty eradication in the Communist Party of China, I have no research on this matter, I always feel that poverty eradication is a pseudo proposition, but since this issue was raised, I might as well talk about it, I don’t have any data, I can only talk about common sense.
This year, the Chinese Communist Party announced that the country would be able to eradicate poverty, and the standard is an annual per capita income of 4,000 yuan, in addition to two worries and three guarantees.
No country in the world has set “poverty eradication” as the government’s goal, because the standard of poverty is set, and this is the key. If the government sets the standard low, it will get out of poverty at any time, but if it sets the standard too high, it will never get out of poverty. The standard is subjective, but the reality of life is objective. The standard you set is not enough to maintain food and clothing, but if you say it is enough, what can the poor do?
Another situation is that, according to your standard, all people are barely out of poverty today, but everyone’s situation is different, social life is changing all the time, inflation is rising slightly, and the burden of consumption is increasing all the time, so what is the point of getting out of poverty today, but fall into poverty tomorrow?
Therefore, all countries do not take poverty eradication as the goal of governance, but only solve the actual social problems, such as unfair social distribution, such as insufficient government insurance and relief, such as the disparity between the rich and the poor, such as official corruption, mismanagement, lack of supervision, etc.. These are the root of the problem of poverty, rather than headaches and foot pains.
This is the Communist Party’s collective combat legacy, as if officials at all levels are to make a round of charge, to fight poverty as a war, it will be able to take down the high ground of poverty, then everything will be fine. In fact, if we take down the high ground of poverty, the army will have to withdraw, and once the army leaves, poverty will come back, and the poor will have to look at the sky again.
For example, the local government forced the parents of the poor to move to their son’s house in the city, which was already very crowded and could not accommodate the two old people, but the government did not consider the actual difficulties of people’s lives. The government imposes the pain of poverty alleviation on the people and enjoys the success of poverty alleviation themselves.
Some local governments seal the poor people’s earthen houses so that they can’t go home, and they don’t know where to force them to move to. Some local governments give the poor some temporary relief squeeze, register it as a political achievement and that’s it, who cares about the future?
The biggest problem is the injustice of the system. Since the Chinese Communist Party came to power, it has been the single biggest exploiter in the country, with hundreds of millions of people working hard and paying most of their earnings to the state, while the people can hardly maintain their food and clothing all year round. After the reform and opening up, the government relied on taxation to amass wealth, and the government got the lion’s share while the people got the small share. The surplus value, as Marx called it, was exploited by the government.
As long as there is freedom of speech, social supervision, and legal punishment, and corrupt officials at all levels are eliminated, the huge amount of public money lost will be enough to build a complete social relief network, so that people who are worried about food and clothing can be solved by social relief, and medical care, education, and housing can be guaranteed. The Hong Kong government is not engaged in any poverty alleviation project, but the public money accumulated over the years, can basically meet the needs of the people of Hong Kong, anyone who can not solve the problems of life, there are doors for relief, because Hong Kong has the Independent Commission Against Corruption, public money has not been turned into private wealth.
In addition, in the pursuit of GDP growth, how much money has been spent on performance projects around the world? How much money has been spent on the investment plans and development projects of the government officials who have spent huge sums of money on the duplicate construction of high-speed railways and highways, and the beautiful public buildings of the governments around the world? How much money has been spent on the economic losses caused by mediocrity and negligence?
Moreover, how much money has been spent on the CCP’s foreign expansion? How much money has been spent on supporting the Third World? How much money has been spent on the Confucius Institute and on bribing politicians from various countries? How much money has been spent on weapons development and war preparation? How much money is spent on building a world community of destiny? If we have today, why should we use it to improve people’s living standards?
Xi Jinping said a word of poverty alleviation, the whole country will do enough superficial work, a level of deception, straight to Xi Jinping, Xi Jinping a pat on the head, it turns out that poverty alleviation is complete, the dragon is pleased, up and down cheers, the country celebrates, self-deception, nothing better than this.
Hong Kong had been basically out of poverty, the average income in the world, social security is basically in place, and now there are trillions of reserves available. But with the Chinese Communist Party’s black hand in, Lin Zheng sees tomorrow’s Lantau Island and the development of the Greater Bay Area as top priorities, Hong Kong’s rich reserves will eventually be lost. It won’t be long before the reserves are emptied and social resources are depleted. By then, I wonder how many people will fall back under the poverty line and the government will no longer be able to provide timely relief.
The so-called poverty eradication, in fact, do not get rid of it. When the government declares that poverty is removed, it means that there are no more poor people in the society, and the government can just shrug it off and leave the poor to fend for themselves. The government boasts, the people suffer, this has always been the case.
