Prosecutor Durham makes significant progress in Russia probe

U.S. media are reporting that special counsel John Durham is further investigating the counter-investigation into the “Russia investigation” into Trump and the Trump campaign that began in 2016, according to Attorney General William Barr.

Shortly after the Wall Street Journal announced that Barr would be leaving this month, he told the paper that Durham’s investigation was making “significant progress.

Updates on the progress of the Durham investigation have been provided almost entirely by Barr to the public. The investigation is focused on why the FBI’s investigation into Trump and his associates is riddled with errors and malfeasance.

Durham has remained almost completely silent about the progress of the investigation, and his team has leaked almost nothing to the public. The only lawsuit in which he made allegations and obtained a guilty plea from the suspect was filed in August against former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith. Clinesmith admitted altering an email from the CIA about Trump campaign aide Carter Page, changing the letter from saying Page was a CIA informant to saying he was not an informant.

Barr secretly appointed Durham as special counsel last October and did not announce it to the public until Dec. 1. Top Democrats said the appointment appeared to violate Justice Department rules on the subject.

Earlier this month, Trump said to the public that Durham did not seem to want to hold senior FBI officials such as former FBI Director James Comey (James Comey) and Andrew McCabe, who later replaced Comey, accountable in the “Russiagate investigation.

We’re still waiting for a report from a man named Durham, who I’ve never spoken to and never met,” the president said. They can spy on me all they want before the election, but unfortunately, Mr. Durham doesn’t want to go after these people and he doesn’t want to go after them before the election. So, who knows if he’ll even make a report.”

Republicans are increasingly frustrated with Durham’s failure to provide any specific information about the counter-investigation of the Russia investigation. So far, Durham has spent about a year conducting the investigation.

In his latest interview, Barr said, “I understand people’s frustration with the question of whether it’s fast enough, but there are other prosecutors who are investigating China (the Chinese Communist Party), and they don’t always get immediate results.”

Barr’s place in the hearts of Trump supporters is unclear. Some believe he has helped the president stand firm against Democrats and has overseen and removed key players in the so-called Crossfire Hurricane investigation against Trump that has turned into a scandal. Others insist that he has been covering for the Justice Department and refusing to properly pursue violators within the Justice Department.

Many Republicans see this as acting under Robert’s Rules of Order – you go soft on the other side,” Barr said. I understand that frustration. The system is being used against Republicans, which is painful, and the attorney general is not willing to do the same thing against Democrats. But that’s the only way we’re going to find a way back.”

Barr’s statement about the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in his latest interview sparked new criticism, claiming that the CIA did not act inappropriately before the 2016 election. “The CIA complied with its own standards,” he said.

It was reported in February that the CIA played a role in disseminating relevant foreign intelligence during the “Russiagate investigation” into then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Barr also told the Wall Street Journal that most of the substantive documents related to the Crossfire Hurricane have been made public. Hans Mancke has been working on the investigation with other Twitter users. He also acknowledged that some documents have not been made public.

Stephen McIntyre, another amateur researcher, wrote, “Anyone who says the Russiagate documents have been made public doesn’t know the facts.”
