U.S. stocks close in the black pending the outcome of the U.S. Congress bailout negotiations

U.S. stocks closed in the black today as the market is still awaiting the results of the U.S. Congress’ negotiations on a new round of bailout packages.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day down 124.32 points, or 0.41%, to close at 30,179.05, while the S&P 500 fell 13.07 points, or 0.35%, to close at 3,709.41.

Technology-based Nasdaq index fell 9.108 points, or 0.07%, to close at 12,755.637 points.
