Mukoko sets record for youngest goal scorer Dott loses to stay on top

Borussia Dortmund lost 1-2 at the Berliner Union today, adding another setback to their quest for the top of the Bundesliga. The only consolation for Dortmund was that youngster Youssoufa Moukoko scored the youngest goal in Bundesliga history this evening.

Taiwo Awoniyi, who is on loan from Liverpool in the English Premier League, scored in the 57th minute of the second half before Moukoko scored in the 60th minute to equalize.

With Mukoko’s goal, he set a new Bundesliga record for youngest goal scorer at 16 years and 28 days; the previous record was 17 years and 34 days when Florian Wirtz of Leverkusen scored against Bayern Munich in June this year.

But Mukoko’s record-breaking glory didn’t last long, as Union Berlin center back Marvin Friedrich headed home a corner kick in the 78th minute to seal the victory. The loss leaves Dott in 4th place in the Bundesliga, just one point ahead of the old five, Union Berlin.
