Employees at Pyongyang airport disinfect the ground to prevent the spread of the Chinese Communist Party virus.
James Carafano, vice president of foreign and defense policy research at the Heritage Foundation, a leading U.S. think tank, said lying is the nature of the Chinese Communist Party, whose preferred policy is deception and aggression, and that the Communist Party has infiltrated the world and believes it will further frustrate the free world.
Writing on FoxNews.com Friday (Dec. 18), Carafano said the Chinese Communist Party has lied about the coronavirus (CCP virus) from the beginning and is still lying about it. The disease has turned into a plague pandemic that has infected nearly 75 million people worldwide, including 17.2 million in the United States. More than 1.6 million people have died from it worldwide, including more than 310,000 in the United States.
The following is a translation of his opinion piece.
Of course, Beijing’s bad behavior won’t stop with the plague pandemic. Just this month, we discovered that Chinese Communist spies were trying to seduce U.S. lawmakers and other politicians. We also learned that CCP members have infiltrated many U.S. universities and businesses. Not surprisingly, the Chinese Communist regime has denied all of this. Its reckless nature suggests that we are and will have to face a more aggressive and duplicitous Beijing than we have in the past.
The CCP regime’s recklessness with the coronavirus (the CCP virus) began when it concealed the size of the initial outbreak in China and then tried to cover up its contagiousness, even denying that it could be transmitted from person to person. The CCP knew it could export the virus and cause a global outbreak, but it still let Chinese people travel abroad. This outright lie cannot go on forever. Even CNN, which parroted the CCP regime’s lies in the first place, recently admitted that the CCP lied.
The CCP is still lying that the virus first broke out in Wuhan, China, but the CCP is trying to dump the origin of the virus on the rest of the world. Chinese officials said in March of this year that the virus originated in the United States. Last month, they pointed the finger at India. Last week, they blamed Italy again.
The latest evidence of the flip-flopping? An Italian study found earlier-than-expected cases in that country. However, the report’s authors were quick to debunk Beijing’s plot to shrug it off. Giovanni Apolone, scientific director of Italy’s National Cancer Institute and co-author of the report, said at a news conference in Milan, “These findings simply show that the plague pandemic in China was not detected in time.”
The Chinese Communist Party’s atrocities during the plague pandemic were not only lies and negligence; it also bully and threaten other countries. Chinese Communist Party officials once threatened to stop supplying medical supplies and personal protective equipment to the U.S. market. The CCP has also been blamed for exporting defective and substandard medical equipment. Beijing’s continued bizarre behavior can only lead to one conclusion: The CCP regime does not believe that honesty is the best strategy. Instead, its preferred policy appears to be one of deception and aggression.
Recently, there have been increasing news revelations of Chinese Communist intelligence infiltrating and influencing the U.S. government, including the hottest Democrat, U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA). Last week, numerous leaked documents revealed that CCP members have infiltrated positions of power and influence around the world.
The CCP’s aggressiveness is also evident in the following: Last week, democratic dissidents in Hong Kong were given harsh prison sentences under Beijing’s recently implemented National Security Law. The CCP’s doubling down on repression of the Uighur minority is a serious violation of human rights that many believe has reached the level of genocide.
Communist leaders also recently made a naked claim at the UN General Assembly that China is a world leader in addressing climate issues and protecting the planet. In fact, China is the world’s leading polluter, emitting more greenhouse gases than any other country. Its pollution also continues to get worse, not better.
Most of the 1.3 billion tons of plastic dumped into the oceans each year comes from the Chinese (Communist) countries. The lack of access to adequate fresh water in many Asian countries is rooted in the mismanagement of the Chinese Communist Party.
In its intentional governing strategy of becoming a more responsible international partner, the CCP has failed to act.
There is a lesson here. The Obama administration has spent eight years trying unsuccessfully to “fix” relations with Russia. The reason is that cooperation presupposes that the aggressive behavior that caused the problem must first be abandoned. Putin has never been a partner, and neither has Chinese Communist Party President Xi Jinping.
There is no evidence that Beijing will soon become better. Appeasement of the Communist regime can only lead to more deception and aggression, and more disappointment in the free world. This is highly irresponsible.
