One day when Lu Dongbin went to drink again, he said to the host, “I owe you so much for the wine that I have not been able to pay.” Then he asked the host to fetch orange peel and painted a crane on the wall. And he said, “Whenever a guest comes here to drink, you call this crane, and it will dance by itself, and I will repay you with this, and within a few years you will become rich.” The owner left him to continue drinking, but he left. Later, whenever someone came to this tavern to drink, he called the crane, and the crane really flew down from the wall and danced, and then returned to the wall after the dance, and everyone was surprised, so people from far and near came to watch, and the tavern was full.
One day Lu Dongbin came back. When the owner saw him, he thanked him and invited him to drink. Lu Dongbin asked him, “Are there many people coming?” The master said, “There are more than enough.” Lu Dongbin then played his flute three times, and the crane flew from the wall to Lu Dongbin, who stepped on the crane and rode away in the air. The owner of the crane, in the place where the crane, building a building, called the yellow crane building, to commemorate the crane and Lu Dongbin ride away. Later, someone inscribed a poem on this building.
