AOC: Pelosi and Schumer should step down

On Wednesday, Rep. Ocasio Cortez (D., N.Y.) told reporters it was time for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to step down.

Alexandra her o cassio Delhi – Cortez (Alexandria Ocasio – Cortez, abbreviation AOC), in the United States in the 2020 election, the democratic seats in congress suffered a serious setback in the battle, although grudgingly hold the majority in the house of representatives, but lost nine seats, plunder the senate plan also touch the wall. There is speculation that Ms Pelosi could lose the speakership. In the eyes of the far left, however, it seems not enough just to let Mrs Pelosi step aside.

“It’s time to replace House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer,” AOC, a far-left Democratic Congressman, said in an interview On Wednesday, according to conservative media outlet Newsmax.

She complained that Pelosi had no realistic alternative, and that the lack of leadership development for the next generation within the Democratic Party meant there was now “almost no succession option” in the House.

The AOC claims that the lack of a succession plan causes “talented new immigrants” to leave Congress or run for office at the state level. “The answer is that we need to transfer power… To make sure that we have a devolution of power within the Democratic Party.”

Her comments raised questions about whether she intends to run for speaker of the House. But she was quick to dismiss such speculation, saying: “The House of Representatives is very complicated and I’m not ready for it. It can’t be me. I know I can’t do the work.”

Before this year’s election, the Democratic-controlled media trumpeted that the party would continue to expand its representation in the House of Representatives and take back its majority in the Senate. In practice, however, the Democrats suffered a serious setback in the congressional elections. Democrats managed to hold on to their majority in the House of Representatives, but gained only 222 seats, failing to widen their advantage over Republicans in the house and nine fewer than in the past. In contrast, The Republicans gained 210 seats in the House of Representatives, greatly narrowing the gap with the Democrats.

Kevin McCarthy, the house minority leader, said in recent days that Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, could lose the job because of the Democrats’ poor showing in the election.

Maria Bartiromo, the fox News anchorwoman, tweeted on Tuesday that McCarthy believes the Republican gains in the Congressional elections have consolidated their position and that she will lose her speakership if the 10 Democrats who voted against Pelosi last time vote against her again.

McCarthy emphasized how much has changed in the Democratic Party since Pelosi became speaker in 2018. “Whether they should be called socialists or not, they are Shouting at each other and they are not the same party in 2018,” he said.

He further pointed out that because Pelosi had promised in the Democratic Party that she would win enough seats to retain the majority this time and the next time, but apparently this is not the case, there has been a fierce debate within the Democratic Party.

House Democrats nominated Ms. Pelosi to continue as speaker on Wednesday despite losing nine seats in the election. After being renominated, Pelosi told a news conference that the next two years could be her last chance to lead the House.
