How does stress make hair go white

On January 22, 2020, A Team from Harvard University published a research paper in the journal Nature entitled: Hyperactivation of Burkas Drives Of Melanocyte Stem cells [1]. The first author of the paper is Dr. Zhang Bing.

The study is the first to reveal the exact mechanism by which stress triggers the sympathetic nervous system, which is part of the fight-or-flight response, to cause permanent damage to pigment stem cells in hair follicles.

These findings help to study the widespread effects of stress on a variety of organs and tissues, and point the way to finding ways to stop and reverse the destructive effects of stress.
