The statue of Zhong Nanshan, a respiratory expert, was unveiled at the high School attached to His Alma mater South China Normal University on Dec 12.
Zhong nanshan attended the 132nd anniversary celebration of his Alma mater and unveiled a bronze statue of himself. According to its introduction at the scene, he graduated in 1955, has been 65 years.
Because of the traditional Chinese custom of “the final verdict is sealed, the living are not like”, so Zhong Nanshan high-profile unveiling of his statue has also caused a piece of irony of the Internet public opinion.
“Someone’s alive. He’s dead.” “It seems that the clock has come to an end.” “In fact, it is difficult to cheat others and steal others’ names. “Registration fee 1200, not expensive!” “Amazing people and things in 2020. Amazing.” “Looking at the investigation of the great awe, looking at the living but showing the wretched, living and statues put together extremely not match, bad review.”
Zhong nanshan was awarded the “Order of the Republic” by Xi Jinping at the national COVID-19 Recognition Conference in August this year.
A white-collar worker in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, said, “Zhong Nanshan was just giving orders to spread the disease from person to person after the epidemic was too severe to cover up. He acts as a pressure relief valve for the public, paralyzing them. In fact, he is an accomplice of the Communist Party in bullying and fooling the people.”
Zhong’s statement that “the virus does not necessarily originate in China” is often quoted by the Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Communist Party of China, trying to dump the origin of the epidemic on other countries.
Zhong nanshan was also criticized by public opinion for promoting the use of novel Coronavirus in compound isatide and endorsing the controversial Traditional Chinese medicine “Lian Hua Qing Wen”.
Not long ago, Chinese actress Shen Jiaxin publicly criticized Zhong on her Micro blog. “Do you dare to ask Academician Zhong, you are busy all day in front of the camera about the epidemic? What research achievements have you made and what medicine have you invented? How many patients have you cured? What rationalization proposals have you put forward? How many days have you been in Wuhan…”
Therefore, some netizens suggested that the statue should stand in the middle of the avenue of Banlangen and Lianhua Qingwen Medicine Factory.
