India’s army purchases a large number of advanced weapons to target Chinese drones

India and China border standoff continues, the latest news that India has announced the purchase of a number of armaments from Israel, allegedly used to deal with Chinese drones.

Comprehensive international media news, the U.S. “Defense Blog” website reported on December 8, the Indian Ministry of Defense recently signed a contract with the Israeli technology company Smart Shooter, the purchase of SMASH fire control system.

According to the information released by this company, the fire control system can be installed on India’s AK-47/AK-203 assault rifle, which can calculate the suitable aiming point based on the target’s movement and the gun’s ballistic data to help soldiers aim to shoot and significantly improve the first hit rate.

The company says the fire control system also has an anti-drone function that enables soldiers to shoot down flying drones within 120 meters. When dealing with fixed or moving targets on the ground, this fire control system has an effective range of up to 200 meters.

Indian Navy Commander Karambir Singh. Singh (Karambir Singh) said not long ago, the procurement of this fire control system is mainly to defend against drone attacks. At a time of sensitive relations between India and China, it is widely believed that Singh was referring to Chinese drones.

Chinese drone technology has risen rapidly in recent years and has become a supplier to most countries in the Middle East. The Indian side believes that Chinese drones exported to Pakistan have played a huge role in the recent bombing of several makeshift Indian army posts by Pakistan with multiple drones. In addition, drones can be used militarily to monitor the deployment of personnel and equipment of the other side.

As the India-Pakistan conflict and the India-China conflict intensify, Chinese drones have become an important “target” for the Indian army.
