U.S. President Donald Trump (Trump) issued a tweet Friday morning (Dec. 11) urging the U.S. Supreme Court, once again, to show courage and wisdom to save America because his administration will be a scandal-ridden mess for years to come if Biden takes office.
In a tweet Friday, Trump said the Biden administration will be a scandal-ridden mess for years to come. “It would be so much easier for the U.S. Supreme Court to follow the Constitution and do what everyone knows must be done. They (the Supreme Court) must show great courage and wisdom. Save America!!!”
The Supreme Court now faces the question of whether to take up Texas’ case against the four swing states. On Monday night (Dec. 7), Texas filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court alleging that Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin, unconstitutionally changed their election laws, failed to treat voters fairly and loosened measures to regulate ballot integrity, triggering major voting irregularities.
The Texas lawsuit asks the Supreme Court to rule that the 2020 elections in four states are unconstitutional; to prohibit the counting of votes cast by the Electoral College in four states; and, for defendant states that have appointed electors, to direct the state legislatures to appoint new electors in accordance with the Constitution.
President Trump has filed a motion in support of the Texas lawsuit.
In an interview with Newsmax on Thursday (Dec. 10), President Trump’s legal adviser John Eastman said he believes the Supreme Court will convene on Friday to decide whether to grant Texas’ motion to file the original lawsuit.
Eastman also said pressure has been mounting on the Supreme Court to take up the case. “There are now 18 states, there’s the president of the United States himself, and there’s the press exercising whatever discretion they have to follow it (the case), and those are very powerful.”
In addition, 106 Republican members of Congress have asked the Supreme Court to approve the amicus brief they filed in support of the Texas lawsuit.
On Friday, 18 members of Congress co-sponsored a resolution supporting Trump’s legal action over election fraud, demanding that those who committed election fraud be brought to justice.
