The legal battle waged by President Donald Trump’s legal team over election fraud is still ongoing, and a wealth of evidence is coming into the public eye. In a recent interview, an attorney pointed out that each of the allegations in the lawsuit recently filed by Trump’s team in Georgia has a basis in fact, including the discovery of irregular ballots cast by tens of thousands of minors and thousands of felons.
In an interview, attorney Cleta Mitchell said that the Trump campaign’s recent lawsuit in Georgia alleges “numerous violations of election laws” by various election officials that led to a large number of illegal votes cast and counted in the state.
Mitchell emphasized that each allegation or claim made in the complaint has a basis in fact, and that eyewitness testimony under oath has been reviewed to ensure that the most salient elements are included in the lawsuit. The evidence also includes affidavits from experts who have studied and analyzed state election data.
According to Mitchell, the 1,585-page complaint, filed Dec. 4, points out in significant part to the large number of illegal ballots in the state. For example: 2,560 felons cast ballots; 66,247 “voters” were found to be minors; 2,423 unregistered persons cast ballots; 4,926 people registered in other states voted in Jo; 395 voters cast ballots in two states; and 15,700 ballots were cast in the state of California. From people who moved out of state before the election; 40,279 ballots from people who moved to new counties but have not re-registered; and another 30,000 to 40,000 absentee ballots without proper signature matching and certification.
After two recounts without validated signatures, state officials announced on Dec. 7 that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden had “won” the state by 12,670 votes over Trump.
According to Mitchell, the aforementioned irregularities are serious enough to require a court to order a new presidential election, or to order the legislature to set aside the ballots and elect a presidential elector for the state.
Also according to conservative media outlet Newsmax, the plaintiffs in the Joe lawsuit are Trump and Joe Republican Party Chairman David Shafer, and the defendants are Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and a large number of local election officials.
In announcing the lawsuit, Shafer emphasized, “Our lawsuit does not depend on a discussion of voting machines. Those issues will be addressed in other lawsuits. Instead, we have shown thousands of ‘low-tech’ voting irregularities and fraudulent practices that are enough to cast doubt on the outcome of the election.”
On Nov. 25, former federal prosecutor and prominent attorney Sidney Powell also filed a lawsuit on behalf of several Republicans in the state. She focuses on allegations of vote fraud and election rigging through the Dominion voting system, and seeks to invalidate the current election results.
Georgia Federal District Judge Timothy Batten dismissed Powell’s lawsuit on Dec. 7. Powell’s legal team then said it would continue the appeal to the Supreme Court.
