Portland left-wing extremists build new ‘autonomous region’ by attacking police

For months, riotous left-wing extremists have been illegally occupying homes in Portland, Oregon. The violence was sparked on Tuesday (August 8) when police were tasked with clearing an illegally occupied home on North Mississippi Avenue.

For months, radical left-wing extremists have been occupying a Portland home known as the “Red House. At 5 a.m. Tuesday, the Portland Police Bureau assisted the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office in a “property mission” to return the private property, Portland police said.

But law enforcement officers encountered resistance, including a gunman, who was later taken into custody. During the raid on the “Red House,” the police also recovered other guns and weapons.

Soon after, the extremist group Antifa took to social media to call on their associates to take back the place. That morning, about 100 militants gathered outside the house and set up an “autonomous zone.

The leftists barricaded the street with stolen goods and fortified it with power tools, blocking it to traffic. They also erected a sign that read “No Jurisdiction,” echoing the left-wing militants’ previous slogan when they established the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ) in Seattle, which was “no jurisdiction. The “Autonomous Zone” was eventually cleared by the police after a number of shootings and homicides.

When Portland police officers were enforcing the law in the new “autonomous zone,” they were attacked and chased away by a mob. Shocking video footage shows the mob brazenly running up to the officers and smashing their patrol car.

After the police retreated from the area, the thugs erected a fence with barricades around it. The rioters also collected a large pile of rocks as a backup to prevent the police from returning.

Police arrested at least 10 suspects during the early morning raid on charges of trespassing and other offenses. Six more people were arrested later in the day during the riots.

Portland’s Democratic mayor, Ted Wheeler, who has publicly supported Black Lives Matter (BLM), tweeted on September 9 that he authorized Portland police to use all legal means to end the illegal occupation. Dissolution of the Autonomous Region. There will be no autonomous region in Portland.

Portland police said in a press release that they have received at least 81 calls since September, when extremists began taking over the area and surrounding neighborhoods. Callers have reported shootings, fights, threats from armed men, burglaries, thefts, vandalism, and a variety of crimes such as illegally blocking traffic, sidewalks, and residential corridors.
