Demolition in Xiaotangshan, Beijing: Gas, water and electricity cut off

The demolition of the Jiuhua Agricultural Science Demonstration Park in Xiaotangshan Town, Changping, Beijing, continues to ferment, and some owners revealed that they were cut off from gas, water, and electricity late at night on December 8, and can only rely on tree branches for warmth. He said that he wanted more people to know the real human rights situation in China.

The owner told New Tang People on the morning of December 9th that the government cut off gas, water, electricity and coal last night, and now he can only rely on tree branches for heating, which makes him very worried.

We called the Energy Bureau and the National Power Corporation during the day, and the reply was that they received an order from the government of Xiaotangshan District that many people who had coal at home were not allowed to burn coal, so they had to cut down tree branches for heating. Chainsaws and machetes and things like that, I guess it’s hard to get into the hospital,” said Mr. Zhang.

Mr. Zhang said that he wanted more people to know the real situation of human rights in China.

At least three towns have torn up their treaties with the people and cut off gas, water and electricity in the winter time, evicting thousands of people they invited to invest in property and agriculture 20 years ago. The ink on the contract signed by the public, which has remained unchanged for 50 years, has not yet dried, and the government has denied all of it in black and white with its vermillion official seal.

Twenty years ago, Xiaotangshan Township’s high-profile promotion of Jiuhua Agricultural Science Park attracted a group of professors to invest in the property, but the government now calls the houses illegal structures.

The government is now claiming that these houses are illegal structures. The people have not responded to any of the administrative appeals they have filed, and the courts have not filed any lawsuits.

On November 17, the Xiaotangshan Town Government sent a large number of security guards to break into the park, posted demolition notices and cut off the natural gas, on November 25, two houses were demolished, and on December 2, residents were again asked to demolish the houses themselves within seven days, otherwise they would be forced to do so.
