Former Hong Kong Public Chi members Wong Chi-fung, Chow Ting and Lam Long-yen were sentenced to jail last Wednesday at the West Kowloon Magistrate’s Court for their involvement in the June 21 siege of the Police Chief. She applied for bail pending appeal in the High Court this morning, but her application was rejected by Judge Kelly Cheung. The court said that the court’s decision was made on the basis of the results of the case, and that the court’s decision was made on the basis of the results of the case.

The court also said that she was very moved by the many “bus drivers” she saw on the day of sentencing. After the court adjourned this afternoon, some supporters waited outside the High Court for Zhou’s prison van to leave, hoping to send her their blessings. During this time, the police kept playing recordings in a loud voice at the scene, reminding them that violating regulations such as the gathering restriction would result in a summons. A large number of police bars were erected to prevent people from approaching the prison van.

The police set up a barricade to prevent reporters from filming the supporters chasing the bus.

At around 2:30 p.m., a prison van left the courthouse. Although supporters could only wave goodbye inside the bars and could not follow it, they still tried to follow the van on the pedestrian walkway, but the police later said that Zhou Court was not inside the van. As the crowd continued to wait, the police erected a barricade to block the road, and put up orange ribbons to block half of Admiralty Road outside the courthouse, further obstructing supporters from chasing the van, and at one point obstructing reporters from filming, which needed to be coordinated by the media liaison team before permission was granted. The prisoner bus that picked up Zhou Court left the courthouse at about 2:53 pm, but the chase by the supporters was greatly impeded.
