The Chinese Communist Party’s infiltration of the U.S. government is very serious, and it is getting worse, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said Monday (Dec. 8).
Russia is a dangerous adversary for the United States, but economically, Russia cannot compete as well as China, Ratcliffe said Monday in an interview on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” program. The world’s largest economy is the United States, the second largest is China, and Russia is not in the top ten; Italy, Brazil, and even the U.S. state of Texas have economies larger than Russia’s. “While Russia may be a dangerous rival to the United States, it cannot compete economically like China,” he said.
As dangerous as Russia may be, they can’t compete with the U.S. the way China (CCP) can,” he said. And China (CCP) has a very specific plan. One of the ways to get on top is that they clearly (recognize) that information is the key to their advantage. So they’re trying to do everything they can to get there.”
“That’s why they subsidize Huawei and ZTE. These are Chinese companies that are run by the Chinese (Communist) government. They know they can steal more information if they are allowed to operate the telecommunications networks that we use to disseminate information. The Chinese (Communist Party) has been so vocal about getting into our network and information society, it’s just their way of doing it,” Ratcliffe said.
He said the CCP’s goal is to replace the United States.
“China (CCP) knows that the U.S. is still the superpower of the world. They know that they are catching up to us in every way. They are counting on us to do nothing until they have the upper hand in all respects,” Ratcliffe said. “All of their plans, all of their initiatives – the Digital Silk Road, the Belt and Road – are all made in China, they’re all wearing a thin shell and a facade; through that, China (CCP) goes global and essentially gains the influence and power to become a world superpower and replace the United States. “
More than just an intelligence director, former acting director of national intelligence Richard Grenell also said Tuesday (8) that the Chinese Communist Party is the number one security issue for the United States, adding that there are more issues they can’t talk about.
Grenell is the president’s special envoy for peace negotiations between Serbia and Kosovo. He commented on Twitter Tuesday morning that host Carlson’s Monday show, devoted to the threat posed to the U.S. by the Chinese Communist government, was “a must watch.”
“Everyone in the intelligence community knows that China (the CCP) is the number one national security issue for the United States. And there’s a lot more that we can’t say,”
Online media outlet Axios reported Tuesday that a female Chinese Communist spy targeted several politicians across the country, including California officials and members of Congress and Midwestern mayors, to quickly penetrate sensitive U.S. political circles.
