Defense Ministry responds to U.S. reapproval of $2.37 billion in arms sales to Taiwan: vain attempts to use Taiwan to control China and use military force to reject unification are bound to end in death

According to reports, the U.S. State Department has decided to approve the sale of Harpoon missile systems and related equipment to Taiwan, with an estimated total value of $2.37 billion.

In this regard, the Ministry of National Defense spokesman Ren Guoqiang responded that the United States and some people in Taiwan vainly attempt to use Taiwan to control China and use military force to reject unification, which is simply unworkable and will eventually lead to a dead end.

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has the firm will, full confidence and sufficient capability to thwart any form of interference by external forces and secessionist attempts for “Taiwan independence”, and will take all necessary measures to resolutely defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and continue to advance the process of national reunification.
