U.S. President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for bringing about a peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. The nominee is Christian Tymbling-Jed, a member of the Norwegian Parliament. The congressman clarified that he is not a fan.
The Associated Press reported today that Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.
President Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for bringing about a peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Fox News reported Sept. 9. The nomination, submitted by Norway’s Knesset member Christian Tymbling-Jedde, praised Trump’s efforts to resolve conflicts around the world. In an interview with Fox News, the congressman said, “To his credit, I think he’s done more to create peace between nations than most of the other nominees for the Peace Prize.”
According to the report, Christian actually nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018. But he said he is not a Trump supporter: “In recent years, those Peace Prize winners have done far less than Trump. Obama, for example, has done nothing.”
After the normalization of relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel, U.S. National Security Adviser O’Brien continued to attribute this to Trump at a conference on August 13, saying outright that Trump should be nominated for the Nobel Prize for this reason.
