According to Caijing.com, Liu Chuansheng is the first known female ministerial-level senior official to voluntarily surrender since the 18th CPC National Congress. Liu Chuansheng, a woman born in Sichuan in December 1950, graduated from Tsinghua University’s automation department in 1975 and served as a teacher and deputy secretary of the league committee at Tsinghua University before serving at the State Education Commission, the China Education Press, the education office of the embassy in the United Kingdom and the education office of the embassy in the U.S. She was secretary of the party committee of Beijing Normal University from 2005 to 2016.
