As the conflict between China and India remains unresolved and the two sides are still at loggerheads, India has successfully test-fired a new nuclear-capable missile called the “Valiant” off the coast of Orissa, with a range of 800 kilometers. In late September, India successfully test-fired an extended-range version of its BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, and in early October the military’s Arjun main battle tank successfully test-fired a laser-guided anti-tank missile with a range of more than 4 kilometers.
This missile is lighter and easier to maneuver than the current version of the Arjun, can hit targets up to 800 kilometers away, and will fly at supersonic speeds during the final stage of its flight toward the target, making it difficult for the enemy to intercept it, according to a news report cited by United Press today.
In late September, India successfully test-fired an extended-range version of its BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, and in early October the military’s own Arjun main battle tank successfully test-fired a laser-guided anti-tank missile with a range of over 4 kilometers.
According to the report, the PLA and the Indian army have been engaged in bloody clashes at the eastern Ladakh Line of Actual Control (LAC) since early May, and tensions are high.
