EU EC President Quarantined at Home for Positive Exposure in Meeting, Retested Today

European Commission President Jean-Pierre Von der Leyen said today on Monday that she would quarantine herself until Tuesday because one of the attendees at a conference she attended tested positive for a new crown.

According to a Reuters report today, EC President von der Leyen is under home quarantine due to contact with a confirmed case.

According to a Monday Twitter tweet by EU EC President von der Leyen, “I was informed that an attendee at a meeting I attended last Tuesday tested positive for a new crown yesterday.” Von der Leyen tweeted, “In order to comply with current norms, I am quarantining myself until tomorrow morning. I tested negative on Thursday and will test again today.”

The message made no mention of the details of those who tested positive at the meeting, nor did it mention Von der Leyen’s attendance at the meeting to fight the disease.
