Thursday evening, the management of public libraries, the LCSD issued a press release, said on the “Director’s Choice” shelf of the Shek Tong Tsui Public Library, placed a suspected violation of the “Hong Kong National Security Law” is awaiting trial of a number of books, the Department is conducting a rigorous and detailed investigation, hoping to find the truth as soon as possible. The incident originated from a social media posting by Yang Xueming, a former member of the Central and Western District Council of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, who said that more than 10 books by Lai Chi-ying were once placed on the shelves of the “Director’s Choice” of the Shek Tong Tsui Public Library, and Yang took a selfie on the spot to prove it.

According to the photo on Yang’s Facebook page, there were 13 copies of Lai Chi-ying’s books on the “Librarian’s Choice” shelf at one time, including “The Narrow Door and the Narrow Road to Birth”, “Time, Please Wait” and “Your Own Voice”. Yang Xueming said he was “received from the public, the LCSD library director recommended different publicity books accused of conspiracy to collude with foreign or foreign forces to endanger national security crime Lai Chi-ying”, he also asked people’s views.

A netizen pointed out that “even if there is an orientation to promote one or two books count! Not to make ten books are scary?
