Another lesson for the Chinese Department of Fudan and all the officials of Fudan

In the Fudan “seeking mercy” fiasco, there are still people who have the face to mention the original intention, bullying me, a junior college student who has not gone to college?

Then let’s do it.

The source is known to all, but it is necessary to copy it again, as evidence in court.

Ran You said: “Fu Zi is the ruler of Wei?” Zi Gong said, “No, I will ask it.” Entered, said: “Bo Yi, Shu Qi who is also?” He said, “The ancient sages.” He said, “What is the complaint?” Said: “Seeking benevolence and getting it, what is the complaint?” Out, said: “The husband does not do it.” (Analects – The Seventh Discourse)

This is a dialogue that took place between Confucius’ teacher and student during his last visit to Wei. To understand this dialogue, one must first pick up on the history of the State of Wei.

At this time in the state of Wei, the reign of the Duke of Wei was that of Ji Yi. The grandson of the famous Wei Ling Gong, Wei Ling Gong was famous because he had a wife Nanzi who was ahead of his time in practicing sexual openness, when Confucius was scolded by students for having a private date with Nanzi.

Nanzi how open, just say one thing: she can share with Wei Ling Gong a Song top flow of fresh meat, Song Gongzi Chao.

This kind of thing of course is also going to be on the hot search. So one time when Duke Wei Ling’s prince Kuai Zhao went to Song, the Song people made it into a folk song to satirize him: “Established er Lou pig, qa to my ai chi.” Your sow of Wei has had enough, when will you put our boar of Song back.

It is not very hurtful, but extremely insulting, which normal men can’t stand.

Prince Kuai Diao is a normal man, so he can’t stand it.

Unable to bear it, he wanted to kill Nanzi.

Nominally, to kill Nanzi is to kill his mother, but after all, she is only a concubine mother, a lewd name and a disorderly guard, so there is not much of a human barrier to killing her.

Unfortunately, the assassins hired by Kuai Zai were discouraged, Nanzi became aware of it, the Duke of Wei became furious, and Kuai Zai fled the state of Wei and went into political exile.

Three years later, the Duke of Wei Ling died, and the people of Wei had to establish Ji Yi, the grandson of the Duke of Wei Ling, as the ruler.

Ji Chang, the aforementioned Duke of Wei, in his other capacity, was the son of Kuai Zai, his own son.

The first thing you need to do is to take a look at the actual situation.

How is it possible? This is a monarchy, not a cabbage vault.

The highest power is obviously mine, why let you kid pick it up for nothing, not even the biological.

So, in June of the same year, with the support of forces outside the country (the Zhao family of Jin), Kuai Zhao prepared to sneak back into the country to seize the throne. The court quickly dispatched troops to keep him out of the country. He had no choice but to enter the small border town of Qi and stayed there.

There is no father and son in front of power. The people of Wei chose me, and the history of Wei chose me, so if you want to take this power away from me, your own father is no good.

The company has been waiting for an opportunity to rebound in Chi Cheng, and put a mountain of pressure on his son.

As the saying goes, “I’m not afraid of my father stealing, but I’m afraid of my father thinking about it,” the word “father’s love is like a mountain” should not be felt more deeply than Wei Zhi Gong.

In this context, three years later, Confucius, who had traveled around the world, entered the state of Wei again with his students.

Filial piety and fraternal duty is the essence of benevolence, this is the Confucian nuclear price concept, but Wei Zai Gong refused his father at the door, even if he is really the choice of the people of Wei (including history), it is obviously against filial piety, such a person, the teacher also want to serve him? This will not be slapped in the face?

Ran You did not dare to ask the teacher directly, but only spat out to Zi Gong, the teacher’s favorite student, “Is the teacher really going to work for such a Wei ruler?” Zi Gong said I don’t know, I’ll go ask. Entering Confucius’ room, Zi Gong asked another question instead, “What do you think, teacher, what kind of people are Bo Yi and Shu Qi?”

Bo Yi and Shu Qi, there are those who know and those who don’t, so let’s break a few more words.

These two brothers were the sons of the ruler of a small vassal state, Luzhu, in the late Yin Shang Dynasty (now Tangshan in Hebei). Bo Yi, on the other hand, thought that since his father wanted you to succeed him, you should be obliged to take up the job. So, the two brothers so push back and forth, and finally simply no one to do it, accompanied by fleeing the center of power, find a place to live in seclusion.

Later, the two brothers heard that Ji Chang, the marquis of Xibe, was a benevolent man, ruled by the quiet years, so they ran to the holy land of Xiqi to join him. When they arrived at Xiqi, Ji Chang happened to be dead and his son Ji Fa was ready to send an army to invade Zhou. Bo Yi and Shu Qi thought that Ji Fa was unfaithful and unfilial, so they stopped the head of the horse and advised him, and were almost killed by Ji Fa.

King Wu Ji Fa revolutionary success, the establishment of the Zhou Dynasty, the world is the Ji surname, Bo Yi, Shu Qi brothers decided to “do not eat Zhou corn”, not with your surname, so hide in the Shuyang Mountains, picking wild vegetables to live. Eventually, they had no more wild vegetables to eat and died of starvation.

When Zigong asked Confucius, why did he mention only these two brothers? It was because the behavior of these two brothers was the exact opposite of that of Wei’s father and son, Kuai Zi and Ji Yi, who on the one hand respected each other in the face of power, and on the other hand killed each other in the face of power.

As a result, Confucius said in a nutshell, “The ancient sages were also sages.”

Not satisfied, Zi Gong continued to ask, “Then do you think they will regret before they starve to death?”

Confucius said, “They wanted to pursue benevolence all their lives, and in the end they achieved it in this way, so how could they regret it?”

Zi Gong then understood and went out and said to Ran You’s classmates not to worry, the teacher would not help Wei Jun.

Why? Because Confucius made his position clear that the two brothers of Bo Yi, from abandoning their country and advising bitterly to not eating the corn of the week, were consistent in these actions, all in pursuit of the highest state of benevolence and virtue. In history, all those who do not share the same stream will probably end up starving to death, which is what they should and can expect, so they will not only not regret, but will also smile at the nine springs because they finally practiced benevolence, even as a ghost, but also happy.

Please, this is the original meaning of “seeking benevolence and getting benevolence”.

Anyone with a normal IQ should be able to understand that the key to “seeking benevolence and gaining benevolence” lies in the fact that the final result of “gaining benevolence” is what the “seeker” should or could have expected, and is willing to accept it without regret.

Therefore, the original meaning of “seeking benevolence and gaining benevolence” has not changed for more than 2,000 years, so don’t blame your lack of culture on the Internet, okay? What you have cited as “seeking a hammer to get a hammer” only proves that in the Internet era, “seeking benevolence to get benevolence” has changed from positive to negative, but its semantic logic remains the same, understand?

Back to the Fudan “seeking benevolence” incident, we sincerely believe that Secretary Wang Yongzhen is indeed “seeking benevolence” in his life. According to the official website of Fudan, Secretary Wang Yongzhen is usually “kind, hard-working, loyal, willing to devote, caring for relatives and comrades”.

This is not “seeking benevolence” is what.

The question is, what kind of “benevolence” does Secretary Wang want to “get”?

The end of his life, such as being stabbed to death by his subordinates, is something he should or could have expected and could accept openly?

A normal person would have answered: No. No.

I would venture to guess that the “benevolence” that Secretary Wang wanted to pursue was that under his leadership and efforts, the entire department or the entire university faculty and students would move forward and teach each other to build Fudan University into a world-class university. (Please raise your hand if you disagree)

If, on the other hand, Secretary Wang had been so devoted to the education of the people that he had become seriously ill and died, no one would have dared to disagree with him, no matter who said that he had “sought mercy”.

Of course, not all assassinations can not be called “seeking mercy”. Let me open my uneducated brain again. Suppose Secretary Wang likes to catch thieves on the bus after work for the sake of social justice, and his family, colleagues and friends often advise him that he is too old to do such dangerous things, and leave the catching of thieves to the police. But Wang Secretary did not listen to everyone’s advice, continue to strike when the strike, and finally once stabbed to death by thieves …… this time, as advised his colleagues, you came out and said he was “seeking mercy”, that is the level of the Chinese Department should have.

The situation is that Wang was killed by his subordinates for unknown reasons, as a colleague, a close comrade, the director of the Chinese Department of Fudan Zhu came out and said that he was “seeking mercy”, was attacked by many netizens, Zhu seems to have not responded positively, there are many friends and colleagues of the Chinese Department came out to explain that, according to The original meaning of “seeking benevolence”, Director Zhu used this is not wrong.

The school and the friends to protect the first to go through the brain, okay?

Are you trying to say that the end of being killed by his subordinates is what Secretary Wang should have expected or could have expected, and that he could accept it openly and without regret?

Are you all doing justice to the beloved Secretary Wang, whose bones are still cold?

You are not afraid that the beloved Secretary Wang will find you in the middle of the night to discuss the correct use of this idiom?

You are so willing to go through the thunderstorm, just to become the image of “colleagues” or to prove the correctness of the word “Zhu teammate”?

The first thing you need to do is to get the right word.
