Biden Administration Will Not Require New Crown Vaccination for Federal Employees Returning to Office

U.S. federal workers will not be required to receive the New Crown vaccine before returning to their offices, according to guidelines released Thursday (June 10) by the Biden administration.

The guidelines say federal agencies should base their reopening on what percentage of employees have been vaccinated, but the guidelines say disclosure of vaccination status will be voluntary.

The guidelines urge agencies to create more flexibility for some employees, including more remote work and working outside of regular office hours.

Reuters reported that about 60 percent of the 4 million federal employees have been working remotely during the outbreak.

Agencies were asked to submit their reopening proposals by next week, the guidelines said.

According to the guidelines, agencies “can operate in a significantly different final post-pandemic state than they did before the pandemic.”
