More than 30,000 new cases of new crowns diagnosed in France in a single day

The spread of the new crown epidemic in France is accelerating. The curfew announced by President Macron has not yet been implemented; on the 15th of October, bad news broke that the number of infected people in a single day exceeded 30,621. The exact number of infections is 30,621. 48% of intensive care beds in Paris are occupied by patients in urgent need of help. The public expects to know the details of the curfew soon.

Prime Minister Jean Castex and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo made a special trip to a testing center not far from Paris City Hall the day before the curfew was imposed (October 15). President Macron pledged on October 14 to speed up the testing.

The mayor, Anne Hidalgo, again complained that there were not enough “antigen tests” in the Paris region. The “antigen test” gives results within 30 minutes.

On the 15th, the Prime Minister also visited a hospital in Paris, where Rémi Salomon, president of the medical committee of the Paris Public Assistance Hospital (AP-HP), asked the Prime Minister that, during the first wave of the epidemic, the people of the northeast had survived by respecting the epidemic prevention rules. When will the whole of France be able to “listen” to the people of the Northeast?

French Prime Minister Jean Castex humorously replied that both Italy and France belong to the Latin community. When will we in France pay as much attention as we did when Italy first suffered the Neocrown epidemic?

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo took issue with the Prime Minister’s statement. It’s hard to find a quick and effective way to prevent an epidemic when we’re always talking to French adults in such a tone,” she said.

On October 16, Paris Police Commissioner Didier Lallement will officially announce the details of the curfew.

The WHO warned on October 15 that the current state of the epidemic in Europe is very worrying and could return to the poor conditions of March and April of this year. The WHO also warned that if practical preventive measures are not taken, by the end of January 2021, the mortality rate could be four to five times higher than in April this year.

The European Parliament will meet on October 19-22 to discuss the response. The European Commissioner for Health has called on countries to try to avoid a total ban on epidemic preparedness measures. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who had just arrived in Belgium to prepare for the meeting, was forced to self-quarantine immediately after learning of the confirmed cases around her.
