Guangdong Foshan Chancheng District nucleic acid testing residents fight up, but the vaccine stopped

Chancheng District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, due to the sudden outbreak of the epidemic, suddenly announced on May 28, requiring residents of the entire district, May 28, 15:00 pm to 12:00 noon on the 29th, to complete the full nucleic acid test. As a result, the testing sites were overcrowded and there were even a number of incidents where people fought over queue jumping. The authorities have also announced a moratorium on vaccinations for the new crown vaccine in the Chancheng district of Foshan, Guangdong.

According to local media reports, Chancheng District is scheduled to conduct nucleic acid testing for the entire resident population from 15:00 p.m. on May 28 to 12:00 noon on May 29, and said that failure to participate in the testing would cause inconvenience to life and would result in legal liability if it caused serious consequences.

Despite the authorities’ claim that more than 2,000 health care workers were summoned for this mass nucleic acid testing in Chancheng District, in fact, it was an impossible task according to Chancheng District’s current testing capacity. As a result, residents of Chancheng District lined up overnight for nucleic acid testing, and the testing sites were overcrowded with residents scrambling to be first and all piling up together.

Chancheng District government staff may have also found it impossible to complete the full nucleic acid test as originally planned, and in the morning of May 29 suddenly announced that the time limit for testing was extended to 24:00 on May 30, while also saying that the district government would continue to organize testing work for residents who failed to participate in the test before 24:00 on May 30.

On May 28, Chancheng District also announced that the vaccination of the new crown vaccine was suspended in Foshan Chancheng District on May 29, but no reason was given.

On May 28, Foshan authorities informed that on May 27, one case of asymptomatic infection was found in Chancheng District during the screening of close contacts of an asymptomatic infected person in Guangzhou, Lei Moumou. As of 24:00 on May 28, Foshan City reported a cumulative total of one confirmed case and three asymptomatic infections.
