Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor: To Beijing next week to discuss measures to support Hong Kong economy

The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) met with reporters before attending an executive session on October 27, and Mrs Lam said she would lead a delegation to Beijing for three days next week to discuss with the central government measures proposed by the SAR government to support Hong Kong’s economic development. Mrs Lam also said that the central government’s response was very positive.

According to Hong Kong Wen Hui Net, Mrs Lam said she would leave next Tuesday (Nov 3) after the Executive Council meeting and spend one night in Shenzhen for testing before going to Beijing, including three days in Beijing. During the visit, she will visit relevant ministries and commissions, and then move on to Guangzhou and Shenzhen to meet with leaders of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen to discuss the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and cooperation between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, with the whole visit to the mainland expected to last four to five days.
