The Taiwan Military Intelligence retired Major General Yue, Colonel Chang, and Colonel Zhou are suspected of introducing civilians to mainland national security personnel, even involving the delivery of intelligence-related information. The Taipei District Attorney’s Office commanded the Investigation Bureau to conduct a three-pronged search and interviewed three suspects, including Major General Yue, on the 20th. The investigation initially concluded that the Major General Yue and others are suspected of violating the National Intelligence Work Act by leaking or delivering information about intelligence sources, channels or organizations and the identities of intelligence officers and intelligence assistants, operations, or communications security control, and the case is still being clarified.
China’s official media, CCTV, has been reporting on the so-called four “Taiwan spy” cases for three days in a row since November 11, in which Tsai Chin-Shu claimed on his program that he was being used by Taiwan’s Military Intelligence. The timing is quite sensitive, as Taiwan is making a major move to arrest three suspected spies.
