The Gateway Pundit reported on May 22 that Floyd’s family is scheduled to visit the White House on Tuesday (May 25) to commemorate the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s death.
In addition, Biden is currently planning to have Congress, on May 25, pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act (George Floyd Justice in Policing Ac), to mark the occasion.
The bill would prohibit federal officers from performing chokeholds (Chokehold), end immunity from civil suits against law enforcement, establish national policing standards, and more. The Gateway Pundit believes that the controversial bill, promoted by Biden, will pass in the House but is unlikely to pass in the Senate, where Republicans are unanimously opposed.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a Friday briefing that Biden would do something for the anniversary of Floyd’s death, but would not elaborate.
However, The Hill reported that two White House sources confirmed to them that Floyd’s relatives would be coming to the White House.
