A thunderstorm fell in St. Petersburg, Russia, on the 19th, and a lightning bolt struck the city’s trolley bus wires, causing a brief “lightning storm” to appear on the street, startling pedestrians who happened to be passing by.
According to two videos circulating on the Internet, pedestrians were walking with umbrellas at the intersection of Veteranov Avenue and Soldata Korzuna when a dazzling flash of lightning and an ear-splitting thunderclap came almost simultaneously, causing people to jump up on the spot, followed by a huge shower of sparks. The picture can also see the people can not help but slow down, astonished at the strange scene in front of them.
According to the report, another witness from the lightning strike point some distance away filmed a huge explosion, pointed out that “I have never seen anything like this sight before, it is really scary and amazing”.
The Daily Mail reported that lightning struck the trolleybus wires after a powerful electrical discharge triggered an explosion and sparks, so that the street appeared “lightning rain” strange scene, but did not cause any casualties.
