The National Pulse reported on May 21 that the Chinese Communist Party-backed Bitcoin Mining Co. has invested more than $25 million into bitcoin mining in Texas. The Chinese company, in partnership with Bitdeer’s Texas subsidiary, will lead the construction of a Texas bitcoin mining hub.
The majority shareholder of BITCOIN MINING LTD is backed by entities with a history of cyber attacks and backed by the Chinese Communist Party. BITCOIN MINING LTD was formerly known as 500.com Limited, which has extensive financial and personnel ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Reuters notes that “Tsinghua Ziguang Group, a Chinese Communist Party state-backed chipmaker, is a major shareholder in Bitcoin Mining, and by 2018, Tsinghua Ziguang had amassed nearly 1/3 of Bitcoin Mining’s shares, and Tsinghua Ziguang’s co-president, is the chairman of Bitcoin Mining. Tsinghua Ziguang Group is a subsidiary of Tsinghua Holdings, which is a state-owned enterprise funded by Tsinghua University. Nicholas Eftimiades, a former senior intelligence official at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and State Department official, said that as Xi’s alma mater, Tsinghua University assists in the national security of the Communist Party, and that there are clear ties.”
According to the U.S. State Department, Tsinghua University has even launched cyber attacks against the U.S. government. Tsinghua University has a cyber group called the Blue Lotus Group that has conducted cyber attacks against the Alaskan government through Africa.
Independent research has confirmed that multiple recent cyber espionage campaigns against groups such as the Tibetan community in India, and the government of Alaska, have originated at Tsinghua University.
What’s more, the Bitcoin mining company’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings reveal that a director of its predecessor, 5MillionLottery.com, studied at the Communist Party’s Central Party School.
5MillionLottery.com was also identified as trying to bribe Japanese lawmakers in hopes of building a casino in Japan.
