May 19 (Bloomberg) — Samsung has filed for a trademark called Z Roll, suggesting that the company may be working on a new scroll-screen phone called the Galaxy Z Roll.
LetsGoDigital reports that Samsung has applied for the trademark at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and the filing reveals some interesting details. The first is the name, which reads “Z Roll,” and IT House has learned that its classification is Class 9, which includes devices such as smartphones and may also support the S-Pen, as it reads “smartphones, electronic pens for smartphones; cell phones; telecommunication devices. “
From the name, “Roll” means that the smartphone will have a scrolling display, while “Z” means that the device will be part of the Galaxy Z series.
It is uncertain when Samsung will release the Galaxy Z Roll, and of course it is unknown if it will be released. The Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Fold3 are expected to be officially released in late August this year, when more information should be available, so look forward to it.
