In Qinghai, many people evacuated to open places for temporary shelter.
Following several earthquakes in Yangbi County, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province, from Friday night (21) to early Saturday morning (22), an earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale occurred at 2:04 a.m. Saturday near Mado County, Golog Prefecture, Qinghai Province, at a depth of 17 kilometers, with no casualties reported for the time being.
A local netizen recalled that the incident happened when a good dream was in full swing, was shouted awake only to know that the earthquake occurred, panicked and followed the crowd rushed downstairs, hoping that no casualties.
According to the official Xinhua News Agency, the local Ministry of Emergency Management was quoted as saying that as of 0:17 local time on May 22, two people had been reported dead and 10 injured in the earthquake in Dali. Local emergency plans have been activated and relevant departments have been organized to participate in the rescue, but the damage is being further counted.
