However, according to the video released by the microblogging media, a section of the Ocean 2D satellite wreckage landed in Li Dian Town, Jingning County, Tongwei, Gansu on May 19. The outside world found that the place is 250 miles away from the area where the notice was alerted, at least 4 and a half hours drive.
The video shows the huge rocket wreckage crashing on a hillside in Li Dian Township, Tongwei Jingning County, Gansu Province, as nearby villagers go to the scene to watch. The rocket wreckage is consistent with the appearance of parts of the fairing of the Long March 4B Yao 48 launch vehicle, as reported by official media.
On April 29, the Chinese Communist Party launched the Long March 5B launch vehicle to send the main module of the space station “Tiangong” into space, but the rocket went out of control and crashed into the Indian Ocean near the Maldives, causing international concern.
Before its landing, space observer Jonathan McDowell expected the rest to travel through New York, Madrid and Beijing in the northern hemisphere, and southern Chile and New Zealand in the southern hemisphere. The wreckage could have fallen anywhere within the above, covering the ocean as well as densely populated areas.
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson issued a special statement on the 9th, saying “China does not meet the standards of responsibility for their space junk.”
