The Little Mermaid? Mysterious remains washed up on the beach seem to be related to mermaids

The mysterious remains that washed up on the beach are believed to be those of a mermaid, the UK’s The Sun reports. The fragile skeleton was discovered by a dog walker in Plymouth, England, at low tide.

Ben Landricombe, 38, said, “It was like a human skeleton with a fish tail and it looked like the remains of a mermaid.”

The Defense Department maintenance worker found the remains on Jennycliff Beach.

Landrycomb then showed the skeleton to neighbors and friends. He added, “Throughout Turnchapel, a small fishing village, no one knew what kind of creature it was supposed to be.”

Many people agree that it could have been a mermaid.

But one archaeologist poured cold water after studying photos of the bones. Dr James Morris, a senior lecturer in archaeology at the University of Central Lancashire, said, “All I can say is that it’s either a sheep, a goat or a European roe.”
