On May 19, the Communist Party of China (CPC) launched a Long March 4B rocket carrying the OceanSat 2 satellite from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. At noon that day, the huge rocket wreckage crashed into the town of Lidian in Jingning County, Tongwei, Gansu Province. Communist authorities issued a notice in advance on May 17, asking villagers from seven villages in Siliang Township, Baiyin District, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, to evacuate on the morning of May 19. However, the rocket wreckage crashed into Jingning County, Tongwei, Gansu Province, about 250 kilometers away from the expected location, fortunately not hitting anyone.
According to official media reports on May 18, there will be a possibility of rocket wreckage falling in the territory of Silong Town, Baiyin District, Baiyin City, Gansu Province at 10:00─12:30 on May 19. The risk area involves 7 villages, including Shuanghe Village, Yongfeng Village, Liangzhuang Village, Silong Village, Minle Village, Jinshan Village and Yongxing Village in Silong Town. Residents in this area were asked to complete evacuation and evacuation by 10:00 on May 19.
It was also reported that on May 19, the Chinese Communist Party launched a Long March 4B rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center to carry the OceanSat 2 satellite.
