Fear of family infection diagnosed Indian boy moved to a tree “self-isolation”

India is facing the problem of the prolongation of the new crown epidemic and the lack of medical resources. In that country, an 18-year-old man moved into a tree to live in “self-isolation” after he was diagnosed and there was no room for him to quarantine his home, and he didn’t want his family to be infected.

The student, Shiva, lives in a remote village in Telangana. He was screened on May 4 and tested positive. Although he was told to be isolated at home, he lived in the same room as his family and there was no room for him to be isolated at home.

Therefore, Shiva tied a bamboo bed to a tree in front of his home and has been living in the tree for more than 10 days now. He wanted to wait until the results of the second screening test came back and would only consider coming down if it turned out to be negative.

Shiva made a pulley system with ropes and buckets that can be used to transport three meals and the supplies he needs. He spends most of his time in the tree using his cell phone. He originally studied in Hyderabad, but returned to his village about a month ago due to an increase in confirmed cases in the city.

Since there was only one toilet in the house and it was in the house, Shiva had to settle in the wilderness if he needed to use the toilet after dark. He doesn’t want his family to be infected because his parents are both daily paid workers and if they get sick, no one in the family will be able to earn money to support him and his two hands and feet.

Local residents told The Print website that there is no isolation center in the village. The nearest medical center is 5 kilometers away from the village. In case of emergency, villagers must go to the nearest hospital 30 kilometers away to seek medical attention.

However, just as Shiva was under quarantine, a local hotel was converted into an isolation center, but many residents were unaware of it.

After word spread that Shiva was living in a tree, police approached him. It was the first time they had heard of this “isolation ward. They then arranged for Shiva to be placed in isolation at the hotel, 5 kilometers away, until the isolation period was over and he could return home.
