Another Head of State is Infected with Wuhan Pneumonia Diagnosed by the President of Poland

The epidemic of Wuhan pneumonia (novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19) in Europe continues, with the news today (24) that Polish President Andrzej Duda has been diagnosed with the disease, and that all officials who have had contact with Duda, including presidential spokespersons, will be placed under autonomous quarantine in accordance with epidemiological protocols.

The President’s spokesman, Blazej Spychalski, tweeted that President Duda had tested positive for the virus yesterday. The president is in good condition and will continue to stay in contact with medical authorities. The film shows officials and staff wearing masks as they reportedly visit a temporary hospital in the converted national stadium.

In the meantime, the number of confirmed cases in Poland has also surged, with more than 13,000 new cases added on the 23rd day to set a new daily record, accumulating to 228,318 confirmed cases and 4,172 deaths. Poland is expected to strengthen restrictions on epidemic prevention, including the closure of restaurants and bars for 2 weeks from today (24).
