A deputy director of Shandong Province Yu Songyan was tried for bribery over 50 million

Yu Songyan was accused of using his position as Deputy Director of the Personnel Department and Director of the Equipment and Finance Department of the Shandong Provincial Public Security Bureau, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Dezhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, Deputy Mayor of the Dezhou Municipal Government, and member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Veterans Affairs Department to provide assistance to 16 units or individuals directly or through other civil servants in contracting for projects and job transfers between 2002 and 2020. . From March 2004 to August 2020, he solicited or received property from relevant units or individuals for a total of RMB 52,089,854,000.

Yu Songyan pleaded guilty in court. The case will be sentenced at a later date.

The 56-year-old Yu Songyan, a native of Yishui, Shandong Province, has been serving in Shandong Province, where he was deputy director of the personnel department of the provincial Public Security Department, director of the equipment and finance department, political commissar of the Criminal Investigation Headquarters of the provincial Public Security Department (deputy department level), political commissar of the Exit-Entry Management Headquarters of the provincial Public Security Department; in December 2011, he was deputy municipal cadre of Dezhou City, member of the party group of the municipal government, secretary of the party committee and director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau; in September 2015, he was appointed as member of the party group of the Dezhou City Government member of the party group, vice mayor, secretary of the party committee and director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau; from November 2018 to the present, he is a member of the party group and deputy director of the Provincial Veterans Affairs Department.
