In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Biden administration’s energy policies, from shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline to banning oil drilling and natural gas exploration on federal lands to the administration’s hacking of the Colonial Pipeline to the government’s mishandling of the Colonial Pipeline hack, all of which caused real pain to Americans.
The Biden administration has overturned many of the Trump administration’s policies internationally and has been unable to demonstrate the resolve to provide deterrence,” Pompeo noted. ” and argued that this is the essence of why the Colonial Pipeline (Cononial Pipeline) was hacked into.
If Biden can’t get his Middle East policy right and deterrence, the result is what’s happening in the energy market right now,” he said. Biden shut down the Archstone (Keystone XL) pipeline, and then the rest of the pipeline invites sabotage and hacking” and “the average American has to spend more money on gasoline, provided that it is still available.”
Pompeo further noted that Biden’s energy policies not only have a clear negative impact domestically, but as “a matter of national security, it’s also devastating.” The former secretary of state specifically said that the Chinese Communist Party likes Biden’s approach to undermining U.S. energy interests.
Pompeo explained, “The Chinese Communist Party loves to get the United States to stop exporting energy because it’s a huge wealth creation opportunity for the United States, and if we deny that huge wealth opportunity with the Green New Deal doctrine, then the Chinese Communist Party will applaud. Who cheered loudest when the U.S. rejoined the Paris climate agreement? It was Xi Jinping. Xi cheered because he didn’t want to reduce the carbon footprint of the Chinese (Communist) state, which is bursting at the seams with new coal-fired power plants every month. This is a devastating indictment of the Biden administration’s weak foreign policy and disregard for the U.S. economy.”
