Afghan security forces killed al-Qaeda’s number two leader in a special operation.

Afghan security forces killed Abu Muhsin al-Masri, believed to be al-Qaeda’s number two leader, in a special operations operation in Ghazni province, the National Directorate of Security said in a tweet on Saturday, Reuters reported.

Abu Muhsin al-Masri was accused in the United States of providing material support to an overseas terrorist group and conspiring to kill Americans, and had been on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list, Reuters said.
