The official website of the Henan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection released news on May 20 that Yu Donghui, secretary of the Zhengzhou City Political and Legal Committee, is suspected of serious disciplinary violations and is currently under investigation. Earlier, a female president in Henan province reported Yu Donghui’s solicitation of 5 million bribes on Weibo, which sparked public attention.
Public information shows that Yu Donghui, 55, has long served in the political and legal system, and has served as president of the Puyang County Court, vice president of the Puyang City Intermediate Court, head of the Second Division of Civil Trial of the Henan Provincial High Court, and president of the Luoyang City Intermediate Court.
In February 2014, Yu Donghui served as president of the Zhengzhou Intermediate Court; in November 2018, he became secretary of the Zhengzhou Municipal Political and Legal Committee. he was investigated in May 2021.
Prior to that, on April 6, Jiang Shumin, the female president of Henan Longqingxiang Garment Co., released a video on Weibo, reporting Yu Donghui’s solicitation of 5 million bribes from his company.
In the video, Jiang Shumin revealed that the reason for the real name report was related to the second auction of more than 1 billion yuan of land of Longqingxiang Garment Co.
She said, “On March 9, 2017, we paid the Zhengzhou Central Court all the execution money of more than 200 million yuan, the case had been executed, but three months later, the court suddenly returned the execution money of more than 200 million yuan to others and continued to execute the land of Long Qingxiang. In desperation, found the then president of Zhengzhou Central Court Yu Donghui to preside over the justice, but in turn, he demanded a huge amount of property.”
Jiang Shumin said, “During this period, Yu Donghui revealed that the illegal refund, ‘was for the next step to auction the land of Long Qingxiang at a low price’. For this reason they even modified the decision of the provincial court, and the auction being conducted by the provincial court was part of their planning.”
She reveals in the video, “Only afterwards did we find out, upon investigation, that in order to find a reason for the refund, they court and Fusheng, even colluded to forge evidence.”
It is reported that Long Qingxiang was involved in a debt lawsuit in 2017 and owed about 200 million yuan in debt. Long Qingxiang found Fusheng Group’s Zhengzhou Fu Wei Sheng Industrial Co. to cooperate in developing the land, obtaining the money to repay the debt and paying off the money.
According to Jiang Shumin, “Zhengzhou Intermediate Court suddenly returned 200 million and insisted on taking Long Qingxiang’s land to judicial auction to pay off the debt. It was for Fusheng to monopolize the land at a low price and make huge profits.”
Jiang Shumin also published a whistle-blowing material that Yu Donghui asked her for tens of millions of yuan in favors, asked away 2 million yuan in cash, 10 gold bars, 9 pounds of wormwood (worth about 1.8 million yuan), undertook its personal and family expenses of more than 320,000 yuan, etc., and actually received nearly 5 million.
The incident, which was reported in real names, aroused public concern, and the relevant local departments then intervened to verify. Yu Donghui’s last appearance was in April 1, held in Zhengzhou City, the second site of the political and legal team education and rectification, he attended the meeting and spoke.
In May, Yu Donghui fell from the horse.
