Cyclone Taut hits India, killing dozens of people

On May 17, tropical cyclone Tauktae made landfall on the west coast of India, bringing with it strong winds and heavy rains that have caused dozens of deaths.

Tauktae is the largest cyclone to hit the west coast of India in decades. Under the heavy rains, many streets were flooded, buildings and trees were damaged, traffic was disrupted, and even the vaccination center for the Chinese Communist virus (Wuhan pneumonia) was damaged.

On the 17th, some streets in Mumbai were flooded and vehicles had to wade through water, and many trees fell in the middle of the road after the strong winds hit, blocking traffic.

On the 18th, the roof of a gas station in Mahua was severely damaged and carts on the road toppled over due to the strong winds, and many debris could be seen scattered on the road. A truck was stranded on the road after trees fell near Diu. The dangerous sight of trees falling and crushing vehicles can be seen on the streets of Mumbai.

The Mumbai government relocated about 600 patients with the CCP virus from the field hospital to safer places and evacuated tens of thousands of people.
