Taiwan’s self-developed new crown vaccine is expected to hit the market in July, using the vaccine to promote the united front.

On May 18, 2021, President Tsai Ing-wen announced after visiting the Central Epidemic Command Center that a new domestic pneumonia vaccine is expected to be available in July.

Taiwan’s new pneumonia outbreak continues, with 959 local cases accumulated in the past four days. President Tsai Ing-wen and Executive President Su Tseng-chang visited the Central Epidemic Command Center on Tuesday (18) to cheer on medical staff and announced that Taiwan’s self-developed vaccine is scheduled to hit the market in July. As the epidemic continues to break out in Taiwan, President Tsai Ing-wen visited the Central Epidemic Command Center on Tuesday and immediately connected with two local pharmaceutical companies producing vaccines to hear about the progress of research and development, and later told the media that Taiwan’s self-developed vaccine will be launched on schedule.

Tsai Ing-wen said: we through various channels to buy vaccines from foreign countries will be in place one after another, please do not worry, in addition to outsourcing, our domestic vaccine research and development is also in the expected progress. The government will definitely give full support and assistance, and will also keep an eye on the safety and quality of the vaccine, hoping to supply the first wave of domestic vaccines before the end of July to provide sufficient protection for the nation.

In response to the spokesperson of the Mainland’s Taiwan Affairs Office, Zhu Fenglian, who recently issued a “vaccine unification war” statement to the people of Taiwan, Taiwan’s Vice Chairman of the Land Commission, Chiu Chui-ching, criticized the Chinese side for its false goodwill.

As long as mainland China does not obstruct, we can obtain more reliable vaccines from international sources more quickly,” said Chiu. The few opinions that pander to the land side’s propaganda do not represent the people of Taiwan and should not be misinterpreted by the land side. If the Chinese Communist Party is really thinking of the people, it should stop the military aircraft from disturbing Taiwan and let Taiwan focus on fighting the epidemic, which is the blessing of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

The Chinese government has also called on all sectors of the society to take the instructions of the command center as the basis. As long as Taiwan responds calmly and unites against the epidemic, it will be able to survive the threat of this wave of epidemic.

President Joe Biden said on Monday (17) that 20 million doses of vaccines, including those produced by Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, are scheduled to be released overseas by the end of June. This is the first time the U.S. will supply officially certified vaccines overseas.

Taiwan’s representative in the U.S., Hsiao Mei-chin, responded that she had already expressed her desire for this round of vaccine releases to the U.S. side. Hsiao said earlier that Taiwan had previously purchased two batches of vaccines from the U.S., of which a small amount from Astellicom has already arrived in Taiwan, and the vaccine produced by Modena Pharmaceuticals is expected to start being delivered in June. The goal now is to try to get the vaccine to arrive on schedule.

On the epidemic front, Central Epidemic Commander Chen Shih-chung announced that there were 245 new cases of novel pneumonia on Tuesday, 240 of which were local cases, with New Taipei City and Taipei City combining for the most 208 cases.

Since as many as 37 students are infected, Chen announced that all schools in Taiwan will be closed from the 19th until the 28th of this month.

Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman for the mainland’s Taiwan Affairs Office, said recently that the recent new pneumonia epidemic in Taiwan has become increasingly serious and the pressure on the public to prevent the epidemic has been increasing. She said Taiwan compatriots urgently need the vaccine and called for the use of Chinese vaccines.
