The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced today that Chinese President Xi Jinping will witness the opening ceremony of a nuclear energy cooperation project with Russian President Vladimir Putin via video link from Beijing on the 19th.

According to the report, construction of the two new units at the Tianwan nuclear power base in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, is scheduled to begin in May 2021 and March 2022, respectively, with a construction period of 65 months for each unit.
The report also mentions that units 3 and 4 of the Xudabao nuclear power plant in Xingcheng City, Huludao City, Liaoning Province, are scheduled to start construction in October 2021 and August 2022, respectively, with a single unit construction period of 69 months (including a four-month winter construction interval) and a 10-month interval between the two units.
