The sudden outbreak of war between Palestinian Hamas and Israel without warning has given people another glimpse of the brutality of war; but at the same time, this time, Israel’s advanced weapons and new tactics have opened the eyes of the world. For example, Israel’s Iron Dome system can intercept more than 90% of the missiles, such as missiles digging deep into the holes of Hamas. What’s even better is to spare the little soldiers and focus on the big guys.
I recently saw a tweeter’s “Golden Quote of the Day”: Hamas says: The people are our brick wall; Israel says: We are the people’s brick wall. Indeed, dictatorial and barbaric regimes always treat their own people as hostages. Just like when the Chinese Communist Party fought the so-called “War of Liberation”, civilians were pushed to the forefront to stand up to the firepower of the Kuomintang army; the Kuomintang army could not bear to kill the innocent civilians and had to surrender or retreat.
This time, Hamas suddenly sent thousands of missiles to bomb Israel with impunity. They knew that they were hiding in a densely populated area, and that if Israel struck back, many civilians would be killed, and then they would loudly condemn Israel to justify their further violent attacks. But what I didn’t expect was that Israel would become a “lone wolf,” specializing in killing big officials while sparing civilians. Israel now has the addresses of many of Hamas’s biggest names. For civilians who live in the same building as the big shots, the Israeli army calls or drops leaflets before the war, asking them to evacuate their homes in advance and then bomb the building an hour later. So, up to the outbreak of the war, Israel has done very little civilian harm to the Palestinians, while beheading dozens of Hamas intelligence chiefs or army generals. This novel tactic was the first time Hamas, a long-time terrorist, saw that the evil terrorists were scared to death that one day the “brick wall” had changed from the people to themselves.
Israel’s novel tactic against Hamas is also a huge psychological deterrent to the Chinese Communist Party leaders who have been clamoring for the reunification of Taiwan with China. The Chinese Communist Party has been trying to unify Taiwan by force for decades, threatening at one point to hit Taiwan with sonic bombs, leaving the Taiwanese with heavy casualties but retaining all means of production for the Chinese Communist Party; at another point saying that it would be a piece of cake to hit Taiwan, sending missiles in the morning and having afternoon tea in Taipei in the afternoon. After all these years, in the end, the United States still have scruples, dare not really fight, only dare military aircraft around Taiwan a few turns to scare the Taiwanese.
But this year, since the change of the U.S. government, Biden to the Chinese Communist Party, thunder and lightning, and refused to make it clear that if the Chinese Communist Party invades Taiwan, the United States will not send troops to assist. In addition, the Chinese Communist Party has recently used the National Security Law of Hong Kong, which was passed last year, to arrest pro-democracy activists and destroy the “one country, two systems” in the first place, but the international community has not heard anything back. On the one hand, Western countries are still struggling with the Chinese Communist Party virus and have no time for foreign affairs; on the other hand, they are greedy for the Chinese market and dare not offend the Chinese Communist Party, but only shout a few protests. Therefore, for the Chinese Communist Party, now is a more favorable time to fight Taiwan, and of course the Chinese Communist Party is also stupid to do so.
But this time Israel’s precise killing of the Hamas leader is something the Chinese Communist Party did not expect before. The Chinese have never been cannon fodder for the CCP. In the 1960s, the CCP was prepared to fight a nuclear war and sacrifice half of the Chinese people. Now when they attack Taiwan, it doesn’t matter how many Chinese soldiers and Chinese people die in the CCP army. But what if Taiwan follows Israel’s example and spares the small soldiers and civilians and focuses on the big shots of the CCP? The Chinese Communist Party leaders have the previous experience of Hamas bigwigs, so they should feel how many heads they have around their necks before making a decision.
