According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korean President Moon Jae-in will visit the United States from 19 to 22 this month and meet with U.S. President Joe Biden.
Following Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga’s visit to the U.S. in April, Moon Jae-in will visit the U.S. in May, demonstrating the importance Biden attaches to the situation in East Asia and highlighting the U.S. determination to prevent the Chinese Communist Party.
Moon is expected to discuss North Korea, the economy, epidemic prevention and vaccine cooperation with Biden during his visit to the U.S. The Korean media interpreted that the two will discuss the supply of vaccines and ensure that South Korea will receive more vaccines.
In April, Moon Jae-in said in a meeting at Cheong Wa Dae that he would “try to make the clock of peace on the Korean peninsula, which is currently stagnant, run again” and that he would also strive for close cooperation on economic, epidemic prevention and vaccine cooperation.
