Pompeo: Chinese Communist Party trying to cover up the origin of the coronavirus to an “alarming” degree

On Sunday, May 16, former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the Chinese Communist Party has done “everything possible” to cover up the most suspicious source of the New Coronavirus (CCP virus) at the Wuhan virus lab, and that the extent of the cover-up is “amazing.

Pompeo made the remarks in an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures. He said that during his tenure as secretary of state, every piece of evidence the U.S. saw throughout the investigation into the source of the virus indicated that “the virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virus Research.

“I have not seen evidence to the contrary at this time. …… The evidence continues to accumulate despite the fact that the Chinese Communist Party does not allow anyone to enter the labs, access to the raw material associated with the virus, or outside contact with the doctors who work there.” Pompeo continued.

He said the list of work done by the Chinese Communist Party to cover up the source of the virus is “shocking. “Combined with the circumstantial evidence that we have, coupled with the fact that the CCP has gone to such great lengths to deny information related to that lab, it strongly suggests to us that that (Wuhan virus lab) is where the (CCP) virus originated.”

Pompeo added that in January, the U.S. government declassified a series of messages related to the source of the virus. That information showed that as early as 2019, doctors in Wuhan, China, were showing symptoms of infection with the virus, “and that’s all true.” He believes this proves that the Chinese Communist Party was fully aware long before the World Health Organization (WHO) went to Wuhan to investigate: the virus can be passed from person to person.

“There is growing evidence that the Chinese Communist Party’s conduct [in handling this outbreak] was not just reckless or negligent; its intentions may have been worse,” Pompeo denounced.
