Wuhan Institute of Virus website removed Once a U.S. research partner and gain-of-function research

The National Pulse reported on May 15 that the research update “Will SARS make a comeback?” can be found in the archived version of the Wuhan Lab website. This appears to describe a viral gain-of-function study conducted at the Wuhan Virus Institute by a National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)-funded entity led by Dr. Antoney Fauci.

On March 21, 2021, the Wuhan P4 Lab’s website listed six U.S. research partners, the University of Alabama, the University of North Texas, the EcoHealth Alliance, Harvard University (Harvard University), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the National Wildlife Federation.

A day later, the page was modified to include only two research partners, the EcoHealth Alliance and the University of Alabama. As of March 23, the Ecological Health Alliance was the only remaining partner.

The Wuhan Virus Institute’s decision to erase the National Institutes of Health from its website was accompanied by a magnifying glass review by the U.S. Congress of the National Institutes of Health’s use of public funds to fund the Communist Wuhan Virus Institute. The Wuhan Virus Institute’s attempted cover-up coincided with a heated exchange between Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Fauci, who sought to distance the NIH from the Wuhan Virus Institute.

A now-deleted post on the Wuhan Virus Institute website detailed the institute’s viral “gain-of-function” research. However, Fauci asserted to Senator Paul that “NIH has not, and does not, fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Virus Institute.”

Here is a 2015 article that summarizes the collaborative research between researchers at the Wuhan Institute for Virus Research “and researchers at the University of North Carolina (UNC), Harvard Medical School, and the Bellinzona Institute for Microbiology. The study “synthesized an infectious recombinant virus and demonstrated robust viral replication in vitro and in vivo,” the article reads.

In a recent exchange with Senator Paul, Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), was also asked about the 173 grants that University of North Carolina researcher Ralph Baric has received from the Infectious Diseases Institute.

Dr. Fauci replied, “Dr. Baric did not conduct a gain-of-function study, and if he did, it was done according to guidelines and it was done in North Carolina. If you look at the grant, if you look at the progress report, it’s not gain of function, despite what people are tweeting and writing, despite the fact that the University of North Carolina is listed as a research partner in the above article. “

Previously, Dr. Fauci’s claim that he “tried to hire” Chinese Communist researchers was unearthed exclusively by National Pulse.
