The Gateway Pundit reported on May 14 that when questioned in Congress this week, John Kerry (D-MA) admitted that the solar panels were made by Uighur slave labor.
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) criticized Kerry and the Biden administration for their position that the Chinese Communist Party must “be part of the solution to climate change” because the manufacturing of solar panels involves the Uighurs, who are facing genocide by the Chinese Communist Party.
McCaul told Kerry, “When you look at the supply chain, when you look at the Chinese (Communist Party), they dominate the major mineral supply and solar supply chain, all of which comes from Xinjiang, which we believe is using slave labor to create these renewable energy sources. So my question to you is, how can you make sure that Chinese Communist slave labor, which has been subjected to genocide, never becomes part of the U.S. climate solution?”
Kerry acknowledged that this is indeed a problem, saying, “You’re absolutely right ……. It’s a problem. Not only does Xinjiang have Uyghurs in forced labor to produce solar panels, but Xinjiang also has large quantities of rare earth minerals used to make solar panels.”
Kerry said the Biden administration is discussing the issue, but he doesn’t “know” much more about it at this time.
